PURPOSE AND AIMS OF THE FOUNDATION
The “Don Oreste Benzi Foundation,” established in Rimini on October 11, 2017, the liturgical memorial of St. John XXIII, aims to promote, deepen and foster the study of the thought, life witness and works promoted and implemented by Don Oreste Benzi, a priest of the Diocese of Rimini, attributable to him or inspired by him. In this, it also includes the experience and charism of the “Pope John XXIII Community,” of which he was the inspirer and founder.
The Foundation also promotes studies and research, permanent places of analysis and comparison, on the needs of the suffering, marginalized, disadvantaged man, as experienced, seen and addressed by Don Oreste Benzi.
To achieve its purposes, the Foundation may, among other things:
- to take care of the collection, preservation and dissemination of all documents regarding the work and teachings of Don Oreste Benzi, including the establishment of a collection point for all experiences that have direct and/or indirect relevance to Don Oreste Benzi;
- Promote, also with Universities or other Study and/or Research Centers, studies and research on the person, message and works promoted, implemented or related to Don Oreste Benzi, including through the activation of scholarships and/or competitions;
- to become a point of reference, including internationally, for deepening the anthropological vision of man that inspired and guided Fr. Orestes and his work;
- disseminate the results of research and studies, with a view to permanent formation and an updated actualization of Don Oreste’s thought and charism, through training courses aimed at those acting in the works and activities traceable to Don Oreste also through conferences and meetings;
- To carry out, as incidental and instrumental to the pursuit of institutional purposes, so-called commercial activities, with particular reference to the publishing sector – excluding the publication of newspapers – audiovisuals in general and similar.
The foundation is non-profit. It may carry out its activities internationally. It may, also, carry out additional activities in support of the pursuit of its institutional purposes.
