PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA IN THE LIGHT OF THE NEW EUROPEAN LEGISLATION The correct handling of personal data is a fundamental commitment for the “Don Oreste Benzi” Foundation (hereafter Foundation).
This processes the data pursuing the following purposes: to promote, deepen and foster the study of the thought, the testimony of life and the works promoted and implemented by Don Oreste Benzi, priest of the Diocese of Rimini, attributable to him or inspired by him.
In this, it also includes the experience and charism of the “Pope John XXIII Community,” of which he was the inspiration and founder.
In addition, the Foundation promotes studies and research, permanent places of analysis and confrontation, on the needs of the suffering, marginalized and disadvantaged man, as lived, seen and faced by Don Oreste Benzi.
To achieve its purposes, the Foundation may, among other things: 1.take care of the collection, preservation and dissemination of all documents regarding the work and teachings of Don Oreste Benzi, including the establishment of a collection point for all experiences that have direct and/or indirect relevance to Don Oreste Benzi; 2.to promote, also with Universities or other Study and/or Research Centers, studies and research on the person, message and works promoted, implemented or connected to don Oreste Benzi, also through the activation of scholarships and/or competitions; 3.to become a point of reference, even internationally, to deepen the anthropological vision of the man who inspired and guided don Oreste and his activity; 4.to divulge the results of research and studies, with a view to permanent formation and an updated actualization of don Oreste’s thought and charisma, through training courses aimed at those who act in the works and activities traceable to don Oreste also through conventions and meetings; 5.to carry out, in an accessory and instrumental way to the pursuit of the institutional aims, so called commercial activities, with particular reference to the publishing sector – with the exclusion of the publication of newspapers – of audiovisuals in general and similar.
Among the priority objectives that the Foundation pursues in its personal data processing activities is also to ensure the protection of the rights and dignity of its users, as well as the fundamental principles established by European Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR).
The Foundation has embarked on a process of adapting the way it processes personal data by following the principle of accountability and the criteria of privacy by design and privacy by default,which require it to adopt, from the conception stage of the individual processing of personal data, organizational and technical measures suitable for ensuring its security and preventing possible breaches.
THE PRINCIPLES OF PERSONAL DATA PROCESSING – Lawfulness of processing Personal data are processed by the Foundation only after acquiring consent, limited to cases in which such authorization is provided for by the regulations in force; in this case, consent must be expressed explicitly and specifically.
In this regard, the Foundation has put in place specific organizational and technical arrangements to ensure that clear and comprehensive information is provided to the data subjects, such that the consent expressed by them is adequately informed. However, consent may be revoked at any time, and this will prevent further processing, except that limited to the storage of its data, if this is provided for by law – Purpose limitation and minimization of data The Foundation processes the personal data of the interested parties only when they are adequate and pertinent to the achievement of its institutional purposes, reducing their quantity and type to the minimum necessary.
– Limitation in retention The Foundation shall retain personal data that have been the subject of other previous processing for the time provided for by law or, in any case, for a time not exceeding the achievement of the purposes for which they are acquired, adopting methods that guarantee their security and the possibility of access by the interested party. RIGHTS OF THE DATA SUBJECT The Foundation has organized the procedures for processing the personal data of the data subject in such a way as to ensure the protection of his/her rights and full transparency.
Therefore, the data subject may in any case obtain access to his/her personal data when it is processed by the Foundation and ask to receive a copy of it.
The Foundation also ensures that the data subject is provided with information regarding the manner in which the data are processed, the period of storage of the data, the persons authorized to process the data and the others to whom such data are or will be communicated.
Pursuant to Articles 15-22, GDPR, by writing to the owner at the above postal address or email privacy@fondazionedonorestebenzi.org one can exercise the rights of consultation, modification, deletion and oblivion, restriction of data processing or oppose their processing for legitimate reasons or for informational, institutional and promotional purposes, including limited to one or more contact tools (e.g.: via email and/or mail and/or phone and/or Sms).
If not specified, opposition to the processing of data for informational and promotional purposes will be understood to extend to all contact tools.
In case of revocation of the consent given, which may be submitted at any time, it is understood that this does not affect the lawfulness of the processing based on the consent previously given or on alternative mechanisms to consent permitted by law.
You may request a complete and updated list of the data processors and third parties to whom the data may be disclosed.
Finally, you have the right to request list of data controllers and data portability, i.e., to receive in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format your data in order to transmit it directly to another entity, autonomous data controller, so that it can process it within the limits set by the data subject.
You have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority to enforce your rights.
